HOW CAN I TELL IF MY PHONE IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE UPGRADE PROGRAMME?
You can trade in both working and faulty eligible Cat phones. If the phone is faulty, it must meet some simple criteria:
- Not be crushed or bent
- Have no major missing components
WHICH DEVICES CAN I TRADE IN?
You can trade in the Cat B15, Cat B15Q, Cat S50, Cat S30, Cat S40, Cat S31, Cat S41 and Cat S60. Other Cat devices are not eligible for our Upgrade Programme. We currently don’t accept devices from other manufacturers.
CAN I BUY ANY PRODUCT AND RECEIVE CREDIT FOR MY TRADED IN PHONE?
You can buy any Cat smartphone. Click here to explore our range. Mobile phones and accessories are currently not available within our Upgrade Programme.
WILL THE CAT S61 BE ELIGIBLE FOR TRADE IN AND IF SO, WHEN?
The Cat S61 is currently not available within our Trade In Scheme, meaning, you cannot trade in or redeem a trade in Voucher Code against the purchase of a new Cat S61 . We will continue reviewing eligible devices within this Scheme in the future.
CAN I UPGRADE MY PHONE EVEN IF I LIVE IN A COUNTRY DIFFERENT TO THE WEBSITE COUNTRY ORIGIN?
We cannot accept requests for an upgrade if you live in a country that is different to the website country origin displayed on catphones.com. The country of your billing and delivery address must correspond to the website country origin.
WHERE DO I FIND THE IMEI NUMBER?
To find the IMEI number either dial *#06# on your keypad or open the SIM tray; you will find a piece of paper with the IMEI number (S30 and S40). You can also find it on the original box.
WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I BUY THE NEW PHONE?
Once you buy a new eligible phone, one of our Customer Service agents will review the details and confirm eligibility. the make and model from the attached picture. The agent will contact you and organise collection for a suitable date and send you an email confirmation with the pre-paid label and instructions. If you need to change the date of the collection or specify the time, contact us prior to the collection date. We will credit the trade in value and send you an email confirmation, once we receive and inspect the returned phone usually within 5 working days.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS THE COLLECTION?
If you miss the collection, please get in touch with us so we can re-arrange for another time.
CAN I CANCEL COLLECTION OF MY OLD DEVICE?
Yes. If you change your mind, please let us know and we will cancel pick up of your phone. However, we will not credit the trade-in amount against the purchase of the new phone.
If you’ve already posted your phone to us, you will be unable to cancel the trade-in.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE TRADED IN PHONE?
We will either recover components or recycle the phone responsibly.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY CREDIT?
Once you send your old phone to us, we will aim to inspect the device within 5 working days. Upon receiving and inspecting the phone, we will refund your money within 7 days using the same payment method you used when purchasing your new eligible phone.
WHAT IF I DON’T RECEIVE MY CREDIT?
Please contact us and our Customer Service team will be able to find out why you haven’t received your credit.
DO I NEED TO HAVE BOUGHT MY PHONE FROM THE CATPHONE WEBSITE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE UPGRADE PROGRAMME?
No, as long as you bought your phone from an authorised retailer, you are eligible for the Upgrade Programme.
THE CAT S61 WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE UPGRADE PROGRAMME WHEN I CONTACTED YOU BEFORE SO I HAVE NOW PURCHASED THE PHONE AT FULL PRICE. I STILL HAVE MY S60, CAN I STILL TRADE IT IN?
If we can prove that you purchased your Cat S61 from catphones.com and you are able to return your Cat S60 to us, please contact [link to our Customer Service before the 14th November 2018, we may be able to credit the trade-in value.
Q: WHAT IF I ALREADY PURCHASED MY CAT S61 FROM CATPHONES.COM, BUT I NO LONGER HAVE MY CAT S60?
Unfortunately you would need to have your Cat S60 to be able to claim the £200 credit. As a loyal customer we would like to offer you a free Cat S61 case. HOW CAN I MAKE SURE MY PHONE IS WIPED?
We recommend you perform a factory reset on the phone before you send it in. All phones will be wiped as part of our process.
HOW DO I TRANSFER DATA FROM MY PHONE BEFORE I PERFORM FACTORY RESET?
If you have a Google account, enter your Google account information. If you don’t have a Google account, select “Or create a new account” and follow these steps:
1.Go to Settings menu
3.Select “Add account”
Once your Google account is created or added, go to Settings menu and in “Accounts” check the newly added Google account is visible.
To set up your Google account as your backup account, follow these steps:
1.Go to Settings menu
2.Select “Backup & reset”
3.Select “Backup account” and select the desired Google account in the list
Be sure the option “Backup my data” is set to “On”.
Select which items you want to back up by:
1.Go to Settings menu
3.Select your Google account and tap each item you wish to back up. To sync all selected items immediately, tap the 3 dots and select “Sync now”
The following data will be backed up if selected:
- App data
- Google Drive
- Google fit data
- Google Play Movies and TV
- Google Play Music
- Google Keep
- Google People details
To back up any folders that contain images or other desired files, use the FAQ “How can I back up data to an external storage device”.
HOW CAN I BACK UP DATA TO AN EXTERNAL STORAGE DEVICE?
Connect via USB cable.
On your Cat device:
1. Go to the Settings menu.
2. Select “Storage” option, select setting menu and “USB computer connection”, select Media (MTP)
Now connect the phone to your external storage drive via USB.
On the PC:
1. Click Start
2. Select computer, and then select the phone from the portable devices list
3. Select Internal storage
4. Navigate to the desired folder on the phone
5. Click and hold or highlight the files that you wish to back up and then drag them into the “Destination Folder” on the storage device
HOW DO I CARRY OUT A FACTORY RESET ON THE DEVICE?
Note: Before performing this activity, ensure you have backed up and secured your data
- Go to Settings menu
- Select “Backup & reset”, select “Factory data reset” This will display the accounts you have established for data to be backed up to.
- Select “Reset phone” this will then request you pass the security that you have set up for your device, and then select “Erase everything”
- The device will then reboot
